Luxe Special Events is a boutique wedding planning, coordination, and design firm created in 2006 and headed by two women, Jenny and Cara, who both share a passion for creating and planning perfect weddings. Jenny says, “it’s the details both big and small that define us. These are the tidbits of life I collect from my clients to create a truly custom, very ‘you’ wedding day,” while Cara says that, ” While most girls dream of planning their own wedding, I think its most fun to plan yours.” Their dedication to their craft is evident with every detail, from beginning to end.

A hopeless romantic, I suppose I was always bound to find my way to a “job” surrounded in love. The snaky trail of my career led me to my final dream destination: wedding planning & design. From NYC working on the design team of a major fashion icon to behind-the-scene events at an SD hotel to international corporate event planning…it feels as though I have always been swirling this direction. Design, Plan, Coordinate- Love.

“My friends and family would tell you that I am a ‘yes’ person with an abundance of optimism, rarely without a smile! I love being busy, spreadsheets, and checking tasks off a to-do list, so naturally, my specialty in wedding planning is the month and day-of coordination. Taking what you have organized and identifying and filling in holes to kick your wedding day up to the next level is what I do best. It is special to me to form a friendship with our brides and grooms – watching that first dance always brings a happy tear.
I have the energy to spare, so when I am not planning weddings you can find me teaching tap, jazz, and ballet to kids, instructing Zumba, or running around with my puppy at the beach. On a free weekend, you’ll see me with my man at one of San Diego’s fabulous foodie restaurants enjoying a meal and bottle of wine.”
