On June 15, Governor Newsome ended the executive orders that have impacted daily life in California since the early pandemic days in March 2020. What does this mean for residents of the state? First of all, there are no more physical distancing restrictions in place. Second, the capacity limits imposed on some businesses have ended. Finally, a county tier system has been put in place, so you know how things are in your local area.
Masks are still required while taking public transportation, in a hospital or long-term care facility, in homeless shelters, and in schools (as well as other settings where many children are present), but vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks in most other situations.
The only events that still have restrictions include indoor events with 5,000 or more people and outdoor events with 10,000 or more attendees.
