Ryan Thaxter: A Masterclass in Musicianship at SGM Events Studio
We’re excited to feature Ryan Thaxter, a seasoned multi-instrumentalist and vocalist whose recent studio session at SGM Events set a high standard for professionalism and musical excellence. As the first artist to participate in our studio series, Ryan delivered a performance that was both technically impressive and emotionally resonant.
A Rich Musical Journey
Ryan’s musical path began just south of Boston, MA, where he started playing guitar and bass in punk rock bands during grade school. In 2009, he co-founded the band Dubbest, aiming to recreate the authentic roots reggae and dub sounds of 1970s and 1980s Jamaica. After earning a music degree from the UMass Boston, Ryan and his bandmates moved to San Diego in 2016 to immerse themselves in the vibrant West Coast reggae scene.
Beyond his work with Dubbest, Ryan has explored solo projects under his own name, releasing music that blends ambient rock with introspective lyrics. His solo album “Rewind” showcases his ability to craft songs that are both nostalgic and innovative.
Studio Session Excellence
During his session at SGM Events, Ryan’s professionalism and musicality were on full display. He seamlessly transitioned between instruments, delivering performances that were both polished and heartfelt. His ability to connect with the music and the audience made for a captivating session that set the tone for our studio series.
