There are many decisions to make as your big day approaches. The uncertainties surrounding the pandemic are not making those decisions easier and are adding further decisions to the list. You need to come up with a checklist so you can take care of one thing at a time to avoid becoming overwhelmed. Today, we will consider booking your wedding entertainment.
- Decide what entertainment you want – Do you prefer a band, a DJ, a solo performer, or an alternative form of entertainment? Perhaps you will want different types of entertainment for different parts of the day/evening.
- Booking the entertainment – With all of the current uncertainties, you want to be sure to book through an agency. This ensures you have backup performers available since an agency can fill in for an artist if they are unable to be at your wedding due to illness or exposure to COVID-19.
- When to book – We used to encourage couples to book artists six to eight months in advance. Now, we encourage you to book as far in advance as you can. Sure, you may be able to find someone sooner or even get a cancellation. However, the best way to ensure you get the performers you want is to make an inquiry today.
