If you want to have a traditional wedding on the weekend, one thing that you need to do is set a schedule. Here are a few tips for planning a traditional weekend wedding.
- The Rehearsal Dinner: Since a traditional wedding will occur on a Saturday, the rehearsal dinner will be on Friday night. The rehearsal should begin at 5:00pm sharp to ensure you can be at dinner by 7:00pm. Everyone should be finished by 10:00pm, so you can get an early start on your big day.
- The Ceremony: Preparations may begin as early as 9:00am, depending on who is doing hair and makeup for the bride. If the ceremony is starting at 5:00pm, you may want to have your bridal party pictures done beforehand, starting at 1:00pm. You also want your wedding band or DJ onsite in time to be set up and playing music when guests start arriving at 4:30pm.
- The Reception: The cocktail hour should begin by 6:00pm. This gives everyone time to get settled in before the 7:00pm dinner seating. The first dance is at 7:20pm followed by dinner at 7:45pm. If you plan on having guests give speeches, this should be done during dinner. Then it’s time to dance!
